Myofascial Release
A gentle, hands-on therapy that targets restrictions in the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs—to relieve pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being. This therapy is particularly beneficial for chronic pain conditions and musculoskeletal tension. If you want to have a non-needle experience this is a great option.

Fascia is connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three-dimensional web from head to foot without interruption. Trauma, posture or inflammation can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscle, blood vessels, osseous structures and organs. Since many of the standard tests such as x-rays, CAT scans, electromyography, etc., do not show fascial restriction, it is thought that an extremely high percentage of people suffering with pain and lack of motion may be having fascial problems, but most go undiagnosed.
The John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach consists of the gentle application of sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions. This essential “time element’ has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. This approach is considered to be the ultimate mind/body therapy that is safe, gentle and consistently effective in producing results that last.
This initial session will include a brief health history, a visual evaluation of the structural alignment of your body followed by a myofascial release treatment session. Treatment involves assessing your symptoms while evaluating postural imbalances and looking for the root cause of your pain.
We exclusively practice John Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) techniques involving gentle sustained pressure applied to areas of restriction in the fascial system.
Please don't apply oils or lotions on your skin prior to your session.
Skin contact is required for the most effective treatment.
Please wear loose clothing (shorts, sports bras, or tank tops)
Everyone's body and injuries are different. Most chronic injuries are a result of years of cumulative stress and trauma, years of sitting at desk or driving long commutes. There is no magic "one fits all regimen". This is not a quick fix or band aid. However, to fast track your healing it is recommended that you schedule your first 3 appointments as close together as possible (2-3 days apart) and the following 3 sessions 1 week apart. After completing your first 6 sessions you and your therapist will re-evaluate your progress and re-assess your treatment plan.
